UH Hilo

The University of Hawaii Hilo is a fully accredited, comprehensive liberal arts and sciences university that is part of the University of Hawaii system. UH Hilo, a public university, has a comprehenisve portfolio of distinguished undergraduate programs, six masters programs and four doctoral programs. What began as an extension division of the University of Hawaii in 1947 now encompasses 115 acres on its Main Campus and serves an incredibly diverse population of 4,100 students.

UH Hilo offers possibilities for research and inventive partnerships. Established just five years ago, the UH Hilo College of Pharmacy, the only school of pharmacy in the Pacific, has already generated patents that have entered the market. Many UH Hilo College of Pharmacy researchers are involved in collaborations at state, national and international levels; UH Hilo seeks opportunities to partner with other organizations on projects of mutual interest.

One of the initiatives outlined in the newly released UH Hilo Strategic Plan supports knowledge and technology transfer through collaborations with the University Park of Science and Technology, state, national and international agencies, businesses, natural resource-based enterprises, and other community groups to advance research applications, intellectual property and entrepreneurship.
